Previous Jobs
My time at
I have worked at Kroger for 9 years. This job has given me the flexibility to work approximately 40 hours a week and go to school. But now, I am in search of something new. I have acted as the manager on duty at night for the past 4 or 5 years. When management leaves at night I have to deal with customer complaints, unloading late trucks while still having to help close customer service, and other countless issues. I have also been at the customer service desk for 5 years. My duties include handling returns, sending money, bill pays, running the floor, and helping train new employees. Before working in customer service I worked in the produce department were I mainly dealt with stocking produce and unloading trucks. For a short period of time I would close the store when we lost our closing cashiers. I still do some of these tasks every once in awhile for peoples' days off.
Working for Kroger over the years has helped build my integrity as a worker and a person. Like not selling alcohol to someone who is intoxicated, which I have had to do a handful of times. Or not sell gift cards to people who are obviously being scammed which I have stopped more times then I can remember. While sending money and selling cashier's checks I have also been able to stop people from money laundering. I have also been able to provide excellent customer service.
My time at Kroger has shaped me into the type of person to step up when someone is seriously injured I am either the one checking on the person or I am the one calling the paramedics to get the person the help they need. When the lock downs started for the pandemic I worked through the panic shopping, working 10 hours or more a shift to help get all the customers out of the store.
Overall, I think working at Kroger has shaped me into a hard working and confident person who is capable of handling anything that gets thrown at him.
Other work
I worked throughout my youth. Helping clean in the morning,on the weekends, or during the summer at my dad's bar. Mostly I mopped floors, helped take in supplies, or wiped tables. This instilled a strong work ethic in me from a young age.
In middle school I would babysit for a family I knew from school. I did this for a couple years. I always enjoyed helping them out. This was an easy fit for me because I am the oldest of 5 children and I have always looked after my own siblings.
